Breaking News Wed. Jan. 4, 2012

Well, I'm sure glad that's settled, aren't you? Personally, I knew Obama had never been to Mars as I'd not seen him around when I was there. LOL

I want to thank the two buyers yesterday that bought pieces from my Etsy shop. Thank you very much!
One painting is going all the way to France!

Thanks to RJ for the following link. This is a MUST watch interview.
MarketWatch666: "Brace Yourself! The American Empire Is Over & The Descent Is Going To Be Horrifying!"  - in depth interview with Chris Hedges, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, best selling author…

Here's some spectacular AssHattery sent in by our good friend the Ozarker this morning.
NewCivilRightsMovement: Santorum: No One Has Ever Died Because They Didn't Have Health Care

And last but certainly not least, please, check out Guy McPherson's latest essay. I want to say, I try and read everything Guy writes but this one, this post of his, spoke to the mournful part of my heart. Good luck to you Guy, good luck to us all.

GuyMcPherson: Taking a hike

I’ve long accepted the words of Hunter S. Thompson in The Proud Highway: “We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and — in spite of True Romance magazines — we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely — at least, not all the time — but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
Thanks to RJ  at Global Glass Onion and  the Ozarker at Conflicted Doomer,  for their contributions and help. Be sure to check out their great blogs today as well as...the super duper, Tom Terrific, forums linked at the bottom of this post!

Not as comprehensive a post as I would like as my mouse up and died on me and this track pad thing is next to useless! anyway, hopefully tech savvy hub can get me straightened out when he gets home.
thanks everyone for stopping by,  and see you all tomorrow!

Zerohedge: War Imminent In Straits Of Hormuz? $200 A Barrel Oil? - There are dim lights at the end of the seemingly darker and darker tunnel. The proposed sanctions legislation allows Obama to waive sanctions if they cause the price of oil to rise or threaten national security. Furthermore, there is the wild card of Iran’s oil customers, the most prominent of which is China, which would hardly be inclined to go along with increased sanctions. But one thing should be clear in Washington – however odious the U.S. government might find Iran’s mullahcracy, it is most unlikely to cave in to either economic or military intimidation that would threaten the nation’s existence, and if backed up against the wall with no way out, would just as likely go for broke and use every weapon at its disposal to defend itself.

“We found the way a child nags isn’t always the same,” says Lucy Hughes, then-director of strategy and insight for Initiative Media. “There’s one of two ways that they nag— either with persistence or with importance.”
Persistent nagging is “really whiny,” according to Hughes. “‘Mommy, I really, really want the Barbie Dream House, wah, wah, wah, wah…’” Important nagging by contrast is more reasoned: “‘Mommy, I need the Barbie Dream House so barbie and Ken can live together and have children and have their own family.’”

  1. Hey PA.
You maybe correct, I am still getting freezing screens when I should not most people are back at work now.
    Some reboots required etc.
I have the network skills to investigate but I always assume everything I type is being watched.
Once they know your IP address range and have your MAC (network card ID) it is easy for them to attack the connection by simple ping attacks, this would slow us down when online and fits with unplugging your router and not having the problem immediately as the IP will be slightly different.
Who knows it could be cyber warfare we don't know about eating up bandwidth that just happens to impact us.
    There is always short wave;¬)

  2. thanks for the comment and you know what? Sometimes, I'm really inclined to agree with you. It's like the system is full of glue and everything bogs down and freezes up for no apparent reason!

  3. Short wave is worth looking at a new digital version eliminates the typical distortion and uses free software and the sound card on your PC.
I'm going to investigate anyhow been meaning to for a while.
Basically FM quality two way speech round the world via your PC broadcast by yourself and picked up via a microphone linked to your sound card.
