Breaking News Wed. March 10, 2011

Be sure and check out Ellen54's new blog too "Living On Stored Foods" , it's linked in the food and water section and I'll put up a permanent link on the left as well. Have a great day, Enjoy the Kunstler!

An Alzheimers fog creeps across this land, from sea to shining sea, as its intellectual class - theoretically the brains of this outfit - utterly fails to get a grip on what is transpiring in this world. The failure of leadership in America is comprehensive and deep. President Obama's top aide, Bill Daley, floated out the notion that we might draw down America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) so that the imprudent folk who traded-in clunkers for new Ford F110s and Cadillac Escalades won't feel any pain from four-dollar gasoline.

  1. pam, that CNBC article about welfare making up 35% of national income set off my bullshit alarm...i went to the trimtabs site and couldnt find the methodology, and cant put my hands on the numbers quckly by search...but calling social security and medicare welfare is just wrong; most people have been paying into those programs as insurance against aging for 40 years; to call them welfare is to call all insurance welfare...and the social security trust fund is separate from the general fund, invested in treasuries, & fully funded until 2037...

bankster payroll for the 8 largest banks alone is $130 billion...

  2. I agree rjs. Totally.
I wanted to post it to let people get an idea about how these subjects are being framed in the media. Calling some of those things welfare is just wrong but I think we can agree that the ultimate goal is to privatize SS. They will keep at it till they either destroy it and then privatize it, or just privatize it.
    Diabolical isn't it?
